Further, we give organisations, federations and clubs ideas on what they can implement into their 2021 sports plans, based on local and international learnings as well as how to motive and keep players and themselves fit and active. It is a well-known fact that South Africa is rich in extremely talented sports men and women. Sport starts from school level and South Africa is unique in the world in that we can build school sports fields to identify talent at a young age, a situation that other continents, such as Europe, do not have due to the dense population and school not having space. Over the past year we have been inundated with coaches, coordinators and clubs from school level upwards who have been severely affected by the pandemic. Many have no income and others are at a loss as to how to proceed and, through our webinar, we will be bringing in key speakers from all over the world to help up-skill the coaches, give them the best advice and tell them that they are not alone. Further, we will bring in business consultants to help them pivot financially. The ex-Middlesex & England batsman talks about his career in England and subsequent return to Barbados, where he is now Head Coach at the University of The West Indies and part of the Barbados Cricket Association. He has strong views on how the game of cricket is currently being funded and shouts for change on how the Future Tours Programme is run and also how the ICC distributes it’s funds. A great listen.
